The Department of Mechanical Engineering was founded in 1972. In its 38 years of operation it has contributed significantly to the development of the science of the Mechanical Engineering. Its main goal is to provide students with high-level education that will help them to become integrated and responsible Mechanical Engineers capable to deal with all the technological challenges our society and the world are facing.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, produce knowledge and expertise to the benefit of the society while, with the systematic effort of its members, has achieved an international recognition.
